My Badminton Racquets and Shoes

*Prince TT (Triple Thread) Beast Ti, Tungsten Titanium Copper Graphite, Balance 29.6 cm, Weighed 82 grams, String tension 23 ±5 lbs./10 ±2 kg. Actual weight: 86.56 grams (including string), weighed 83.7 grams (without string) strung with Ashaway XT22 (.65mm thin) at 22 lbs tension. March 25, 2007.

*Prince TT (Triple Thread) Whisper, Tungsten Titanium Copper Graphite, Balance 29.5 cm, Weighed 81 grams, String tension 23 ±5 lbs./10 ±2 kg, Actual weight: 86.84 grams (including string), strung with Ashaway Powergut (.66mm thin) at 22 lbs tension. March 28, 2007.

**Karakal SL-70 Magnesium Super Light, Muscle TEC, Super Hi-Modulus Graphite-Magnesium, weighed 83.9 grams (including string), strung with Ashaway XT-22 (.65mm thin) at 22 lbs in 2006. Very thin string makes the head lighter (more than 1 gram lighter for .65mm string compared to .70mm) and minimizes air resistance, therefore improve swinging speed.

*Yonex Armortec 700 SP, 4U/G4, Ultra Light Weight/Head Heavy Balance/Ultimum Titanium + High Modulus Graphite, weighed 87.35 grams (including string), strung with Ashaway XT-22 (.65mm) at 22 lbs on November 9, 2006. Very thin string makes the head lighter and minimizes air resistance.

**Yonex Muscle Power 28, 3U/G4, Shock-Less System, Isometric Head Shape, weighed 92.41 grams (including string), strung with Ashaway MicroLegend string at 24 lbs on September 9, 2004.

*Yonex Carbonex 8200 Light, 3U/G4, Full Carbon Graphite Racquet, weighed 91.56 grams (including string), strung with Yonex BG-68Ti at 20 lbs on February 26, 2004. Restrung with Ashaway MicroLegend string at 24 lbs on March 2004.

*Yonex Carbonex 20 Muscle SP, 2U/G5, High Modulus Carbon Graphite, weighed 97.51 grams (including string), strung with Yonex BG-80 at 21 lbs on March 10, 2003.

*Yonex Muscle Power 100 SP, 2U/G5, Ultimum Titanium + High Modulus Graphite/Even Balance/Long Size, weighed 96.03 grams (including string), strung with Yonex BG-68Ti at 22 lbs on March 19, 2003.

A badminton racquet must be light (equal or less than 85 grams), its head produces powerful smashes and can withstand more than 26 lbs. of string tension, and must have stiff shaft and small grip (equal or smaller than G4 Yonex size grip). Low string tension (18-20 lbs.) produce more powerful but less accurate shots and fast steep angled smashes. High tension (22-26 lbs.) produce less power (less bounce effect), but more accurate shots, you will be able to control where the shuttlecock goes and produce high smashes. Thin string (equal or less than .66mm) make the racquet head lighter, move fast swing and fast shot (your shuttlecock move faster too), makes less powerful shots and less durable string. You can feel the shuttlecock touch the string with a good racquet. And a good racquet let you make many shots with less effort on your arm so you will not run out of juice/battery quickly.

*Yonex SHB-101MX. Power Cushion 101 Men and Ergoshape. December 5, 2009.

**I use 3M Nexcare reusable hot/cold pack, Philips Infraphil HP3609 infra-red light lamp, big and small hot/cold bags, and Wahl Massager 4189 to relieve my stiff arms/legs and fatigued/ached muscle from playing badminton. Hot water dip mix with table salt, ginger, white flower medicated oil and Isopropyl Alcohol will help your feet too. And also hot and cold bag, Salonpas patches, Jacuzzi dip, hot spring dip, hot shower/bathtub, sunbathing, use hair dryer, and hot water rub/massage on the affected areas then rub/massage with rubbing alcohol afterward will help too. For best result, apply on the affected areas for 20 minutes and always do flexibility exercise before and after every badminton games to stretch muscle groups most prone to cramping and stiffness. Eat lots of bananas, nuts and fruits rich in potassium, calcium and magnesium.
Carbohydrate (includes sugars, starches, dietary fibers, etc.) provide energy (in form of glucose) to all of our body tissues. And if our diet doesn't supply enough carbohydrate, our liver will take the protein (includes meat, poultry, fish, eggs, milk, beans, tofu, etc.) we eat and convert it to glucose. And if our diet is chronically low in calories, proteins and carbohydrate, our body will break down muscle and other important proteins to make needed glucose. The end result can be muscle wasting, a sluggish metabolism, delayed healing from an injury and a weakened immune system. And sweat drains our body’s fluids, salt and minerals (i.e., potassium, magnesium and calcium), loss of these nutrients may also cause a muscle to spasm. So don't forget  to eat the right diet consisting of carbohydrate, protein, salt, minerals and lots of water (in hot weather) when playing badminton 2-3 times a week. Some take Amino Acids (Creatine and Glutamine) to boost muscle energy and recovery. Stretch your muscle before and after playing badminton and stretch everyday thereafter. And if you have high blood pressure or any other heart disorder, please don't play badminton anymore.  Top | Bottom

POEM:
Age is the quality of the mind
If you left your dreams behind
If you no longer look ahead
If hope is dead
Then you are old.
But if for life you keep the zest
And if from life you draw the best
If love you hold no matter how the birthdays fly
No matter how the years roll by
You are not old.
Growing old is not a crime
No one yet has harnessed time
After all, life's total sum
Will prove the best is yet to come.

INSTRUCTION FOR YOUR LIFE:
Eat lots of rye rice.
Give people more than what they want, and do it with all your heart.
Memorize your favorite poem.
Do not believe everything your hear, do not spend all you have, and do not sleep for as long as you wish.
Whenever you say "I LOVE YOU", mean it.
Whenever you say "I'm sorry", look the person right in the eyes.
Believe in love at first sight.
Never ignore someone's dreams.
Love deeply and passionately, you may get hurt, but this is the only way to live life completely.
Tackle any disagreements in a clean manner, do not offend.
Never judge a person based on their relatives.
Speak slowly, but think fast.
Whenever someone asks you something you don't want to answer, smile and ask "why do you want to know"?
Remember that the deepest love and the greatest achievements are the ones bearing the most risk.
Call your mother. If you can't, at least think of her.
Say "Bless you" whenever someone sneezes.
If you happen to loose, do not miss the lesson.
Remember the 3 R's: Respect yourself, Respect everyone else,  and be Responsible for all of your actions.
Do not allow a little dispute to put an end to a great friendship.
Whenever you notice you've made a mistake, do all what is necessary to fix it. Immediately.
Smile whenever you pick up the phone, for the caller will be able to notice it.
Marry to a person that likes to chat, for when your old age comes, chatting will be one of the best qualities you can find in someone.
Spend sometime alone.
Embrace changes, but do not repudiate your own values.
Remember that sometimes silence is the best answer.
Read more books and watch less TV.
Lead a good and honest life. Like this, when you are old and remember the past, you will see how you can enjoy it all once again.
Trust GOD, but lock your car well.
A good atmosphere in your home is important.
Do whatever is possible to keep your home peaceful and harmonious.
If you have a quarrel with someone close to you, try to solve only the present issue. Do not resolve the past.
Read in between the lines.
Share your knowledge. It's a way of achieving immortality.
Be gentle towards our Planet....
Do not block mother nature.
Keep yourself busy only with your own matters.
Do not trust a partner that never closes his/her eyes when kissing you.
At least once a year, visit somewhere you have never been to.
If you make lots of money, do some charity while alive. That's the best reward fortune can provide you with.
Remember that sometimes an under-achievement is good luck.
Learn well all the rules, so as to know how to break them in the proper manner.
Remember: the best relationship is the one where the love of one for another matters more than the need to be with each other.
Judge your level of success from what you have had to renounce to achieve it.
Face Love and cooking with absolute commitment, not expecting too much in return.

INGREDIENTS OF A WELL ADJUSTED PERSON:
1). You learn to be happy.
2). Never ever give your children any extra love, attention or toys when they are sick.
3). Your happiness depends not so much on getting what you want, as in being happy with what you got.
4). A well-adjusted person always set up new interesting goal in life.
5). Do not carry it any further, a day that you do not live today, you are never going to live again. Live each day of your life as if it were your last one on earth.
6). A well-adjusted person knows that when life hands you a lemon, there is only one thing to do, make lemonade. Your happiness never depends upon what the world does to you, it depends on the way you look at it, your attitude toward it.
7). A well-adjusted person knows above all how to live with himself, you learn the art of living yourself happily.
8). A well-adjusted person is never a perfectionist, believed in yourself, believe in the right of what you do and do it.
9). A well-adjusted person knows how to laugh at life. With every else you may get, you lose your sense of humor and sooner or later, this world is going to crack you. You know too, with every else you may not get, you cheat your sense of humor and nothing will ever be able to destroy you.
10). Have an educated heart. It is something you own if you know how to bring a little happiness into someone else life, and you do it. It means you know something wonderful to say about someone and you say it. It means you know something vicious and cruel and you do not say it. It means you are willing and able to see the other fellow's point of view.
